Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM138.08 million for the third quarter year ended Sept 30 from RM132.65 million for the same quarter last year.

Revenue also rose to RM1.17 billion from RM991.08 million recorded previously.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Nestle said the higher pre-tax profit was driven by the gross profit evolution and higher investments in marketing activities.

The increase in revenue, however, was due to the higher demand during the fasting month followed by the Hari Raya celebrations.

To mitigate the impact of high prices of key raw materials, the group will continue to implement operational saving initiatives by leveraging on the Nestle Continuous Excellence platform.

“The group will closely monitor the development of commodity prices, leverage operational efficiencies and cost savings initiatives to minimise or avoid passing on price increases to consumers,” it said. — Bernama
